Jamshedpur. Jharkhand Veteran Table Tennis Competition started from Saturday at JRD Tata Sports Complex on behalf of East Singhbhum District Table Tennis Association. On the first day, in the semi-finals of men’s singles above 59 years age group, Samarjeet Singh of Ranchi defeated Gokul Kumar of East Singhbhum 3-0. In another semi-final, Shashi Om Prasad of Dhanbad defeated Gautam Singh of Ramgarh 3-0. At the same time, in the semi-finals of 39 plus singles category, Ravi Sharma, Somnath Chakraborty, Neeraj Kumar, Manish Kohli confirmed their places. Dinesh Rakshit, Kamaljeet Bhatia, Kanishka Dutta and Parvesh Narang won in the age group above 49 years. A total of 53 players from Ranchi (12), Dhanbad (08), Ramgarh (03), Bokaro (1) and East Bengal (29) are participating in this competition which will run till January 12.
