Sam Murphy celebrates his win at the 2026 Ein Bay Open.

Irish Golfer Triumphs on Professional Debut

Sokhna, Egypt – Ireland’s Sam Murphy has made an immediate impact on the Alps Tour, securing victory at the 2026 Ein Bay Open in his very first professional tournament. Murphy finished with an eleven-under total, two strokes ahead of compatriot Robert Moran.

Murphy began the final round with a two-shot lead and navigated the course effectively, recording three birdies and eight pars through the first 11 holes. Despite a slight wobble with two bogeys later in the round, he demonstrated composure, particularly with a crucial up-and-down on the 18th hole to seal the win.

“Winning my first event is the perfect way to start both the season and my professional career,” said Murphy. Alps Tour Golf

Robert Moran mounted a strong comeback, carding four birdies on the back nine to challenge Murphy. However, a bogey at the 18th ultimately left him two shots behind. Spain’s Ruben Pardo Rodriguez and Mario Galiano Aguilar, along with England’s Barclay Brown, shared third place, three shots off the lead.

Brown had briefly tied for the lead but dropped shots on the 16th and 18th holes.

Strong Showing for French Players

Several French golfers also made their mark at the Ein Bay Open. Maxime Legros, returning from an injury, finished in a tie for sixth place, while Alexandre Vandermoten secured a share of the same position. Arthur Ameil-Planchin finished tenth.

Benjamin Kedochim, Augustin Holé, Théo Brizard and Victor Veyret all finished in a tie for 19th place.
