Welcome back to the youth sector: Raffaella Guadagno will lead the Under 17 team

Everything is ready for the official presentation of Salerno Ponteggi ’92 who will face the next women’s Serie A2 championship. Last Sunday the Grenadines defeated Pallacanestro Angri (Serie B) in a friendly score of 94-43. Tomorrow, first test against the same category in Benevento against Virtus Academy clubs (6pm); then on 22 September, another friendly match at home to New Cap Marigliano, another Serie B team.

The club’s work also continues at the youth level, where there is a return. In fact, Raffaella Guadagno will coach the Under 17 team of Salerno Ponteggi ’92 in 2024/25. The former winger of Somma’s owner club (when the name was Carpedil Battipaglia) also has a past in A1. After impressing on the court as a player, he began his career as a coach which led him to collaborate with Salerno Basket ’92 in 2019/20 as an assistant of the first team and guide of the U14s. Last year he coached Carlo Vitolo Capaccio Paestum in C and now he is back in Salerno: “Teaching in my city is an added value. In Salerno I started to take my first steps in the world of football, I came back as a player and won one of the last championships of my career, as well as my first experience as a coach. Salerno is my home, basketball is my passion. I am optimistic about this season of sports because the girls have the right mental predisposition and a big desire to work. The ultimate judge, as always, will be the stand but I’m sure my girls have a lot to give and a lot to say.
