Rita Granata, 27 years old, didn’t make it. The girl is dead for the injuries and trauma sustained after being knocked over a Napoliin via Leopardi a Fuorigrotta as he came down from a taxi. The dramatic episode occurred on the night between 5 and 6 May.

The young woman, after an evening spent with her friends, was taken home by taxi. When she got out of the car, she was hit while she was crossing via Leopardi, at the intersection with via Rossetti.
A car driven by a man hit her 24 year old boy and with a 22-year-old passenger on board.
The impact was very violent. According to the reconstruction of the episode, the young woman was thrown forward about 30 meters.
The boy driving the vehicle did not stop immediately. A dynamic that never stops repeating itself on Italian roads.
He continued on his way, only to return about 30 minutes later to the scene of the accident, where he was intercepted by Municipal Police officers who rushed to Via Leopardi to provide aid to the victim and to carry out investigations.
The rush to the hospital
Rita’s condition immediately appeared serious. Transported by ambulance toSan Paolo hospital she was then transferred to the intensive care unit of theNocera hospital.
The prosecutor on duty ordered the seizure of the vehicle and that toxicological tests be carried out on the driver. Both occupants of the car were accompanied to the offices of the Municipal Police command for identification as they did not have identification documents.

Rita Granata, who died after three days of agony, was judo match official. She also graduated from the L’Orientale University of Naples in International Relations and was a supervisor and research partner for the Centro Studi d’Europa.
