A few days after the names of those responsible for the women’s and men’s teams became official, the Japanese federation recently announced the composition of the staff. Only one change within Keiji Suzuki’s coaching team for men: Minoru Konegawa, very close to Kosei Inoue and who has done – remarkably – three Olympics, is replaced by Masashi Ebinuma.
The real revolution came from the women’s side because for the first time in its history, Japanese judo chose a corner (head coach, Editor’s note) to lead his daughters. As we informed you after the Olympics, Maki Tsukada, 42 years old, 2004 Olympic champion and 2008 Olympic vice-champion at +78kg is responsible for this task. Tsukada until then was responsible for the Tokai women’s team.

Also note that the performance committee saw a change in its members: Toshihiko Yamada was elected to replace Jun Konno.
At the level of the international committee, two new names and not least: Kenichiro Agemizu and Takamasa Anai, head coaches of the men of Tokai and Tenri.
