Quebec Games: La Tuque Athlete Competes in Badminton, Prepares for Table Tennis
Blainville, QC – Daphné Arvisais of La Tuque recently participated in the badminton competition at the Quebec Games, gaining valuable experience despite not securing a victory in her initial matches.
Badminton Competition Recap
Arvisais finished in 15th place in both the individual and team badminton events. She acknowledged experiencing some stress at the competition venue in Blainville, which impacted her performance.
It’s really a fun experience, since I already recognize everyone, even if they’re not from the same city,”she noted.
Patrice Arvisais, Daphné’s father, served as one of the coaches for the Mauritian badminton team. This marked his first experience coaching at the Quebec Games, an adventure he greatly enjoyed.
Patrice Arvisais emphasized the noise, the atmosphere in the gymnasiums and the adrenaline.
Experiencing the emotions with the young people, the ups and downs, the small personal successes, the development they will have thanks to this tournament, it’s truly incredible.
Looking Ahead: Table Tennis Competition
Arvisais’s participation in the Quebec Games isn’t over yet. She will team up with fellow La Tuque athlete, Annabelle Gaudreault, to compete in table tennis.
Individual table tennis competitions are scheduled to begin on Wednesday, followed by team events.
