New Baseball Title Coming to PS4 and Switch

Konami has announced the release date for Powerful Pro Baseball 2026-2027, slated to hit shelves in Japan on June 11th. The game will be available for both PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch.

The standard edition of the game will be priced at 7,700 yen (approximately $92.40 USD), with a tax-inclusive price of 8,470 yen (approximately $101.60 USD). Notably, the PlayStation 4 version will be a digital-only release.

“Powerful Edition” Offers Exclusive Content

A digital “Powerful Edition” will also be available for 9,700 yen (approximately $116.40 USD), including tax of 10,670 yen (approximately $128.00 USD). This edition includes 324 additional background music tracks from previous Powerful Pro Baseball titles, as well as the “All-Time Legend Complete Set” downloadable content. Pre-ordering either the standard or the “Powerful Edition” will grant players early access to the in-game “Crown Stadium.”

Gameplay Features and Compatibility

The PlayStation 4 version will continue to support PlayStation VR, although the Nintendo Switch version will be compatible with amiibo figures. Both versions will support local multiplayer for up to four players and online multiplayer for up to two players.

World Baseball Classic Mode Highlighted

The game’s “Success” mode will feature a scenario centered around the “2026 World Baseball Classic,” allowing players to develop original players and train alongside their favorite athletes through a “Buddy System.”

Players can also develop their original player by facing off against former and current Japanese national team players in one-at-bat showdowns, with the opportunity to recruit defeated players.

Shohei Ohtani Stats Revealed

Details have been released regarding the in-game stats of Shohei Ohtani. As a pitcher, Ohtani retains his signature “Sweeper” throw and boasts a top pitch speed of 164 kilometers per hour. As a hitter, his Power is rated at “S98” and he possesses the special ability “Intimidate,” which lowers opposing pitcher stats.
