Frank Vogel is no longer the coach of the Phoenix Suns, the Arizona club announced. Vogel was fired after a disappointing first-round loss to the Minnesota Timberwolves in the Western Conference playoffs at 0-4.

The Phoenix Suns today announced the dismissal of Frank Vogel as head coach.

“As we said in the May 1 press conference, team management, including myself, Josh Bartelstein and ownership, would review basketball operations to determine changes to be made.”said Suns president of basketball operations and general manager James Jones. “After a careful analysis of the season, we concluded that we needed a different coach for our team. We appreciate Frank’s hard work and commitment.

Despite adding superstar Kevin Durant and three-time NBA All-Star Bradley Beal to team with franchise star Devin Booker last summer, the Suns finished the regular season sixth in the Western Conference and suffered a 4-0 sweep by the Timberwolves, exiting the playoffs too early. Let’s see who they decide to bet on.
