Sir Paul McCartney cut a casual figure when he was spotted grabbing a quick lunch in Midtown Manhattan this Thursday.

The 81-year-old, who has enjoyed more than 60 years of superstardom, blended in with the New York crowd during his latest sighting.

Lending himself a touch of added anonymity with a mask, the former Beatle wore a simple pair of blue jeans with a matching top.

He warded off the lingering chill with a cozy-looking quilted jacket and kept warm with a knit cap as he strolled to the eatery Just Salad for a meal.

His outing comes after Alec Baldwin admitted to calling him an ‘a**hole’ for ‘showing us up’ by performing a headstand at their yoga session.

Alec, who is facing down a looming manslaughter trial over the Rust shooting, told the lighthearted anecdote on a podcast this week.

The encounter occurred a little over a decade ago when Paul ‘was in his late 60s,’ Alec said on Our Way With Paul Anka And Skip Bronson.

In his yoga group, which included Saturday Night Live creator Lorne Michaels, ‘the only one who was really adept at yoga was McCartney.’

‘He would do a handstand or a headstand and lean – he had the most lithe body you’ve ever seen,’ added Alec, 66, whose wife Hilaria, 40, is a yoga instructor.

‘And he was so fit! And he would – I mean, one time he does a headstand before he leaves, and he gets up and he whispers to me, he goes: “I’m gonna go take my daughter to lunch.” He goes: “I’ll see you later.”‘

Alec recalled: ‘And I looked up at him after he did the headstand and I go: “You’re an a**hole.” And I never thought I’d call one of the Beatles an a**hole, you know, but he was just always showing us up with his physical skills. He was a very fit guy.’

Paul was self-deprecating about his abilities while discussing the celebrity yoga group during an appearance on the SmartLess podcast a few years ago.

He shared he and ‘a couple mates’ including Alec and Lorne had ‘this little thing’ where ‘we do yoga together and we’re terrible.’

Paul has harbored a decades-long fascination with Hindu spiritual practices, dating back to his days as a Beatle in the 1960s.

The band fell under the sway of the then-fashionable ‘Giggling Guru’ Maharishi Mahesh Yogi, who acquired a fanbase of western celebrities like Mia Farrow.

In 1968 the Beatles famously stayed at his ashram in the Himalayan foothills, where they wrote a large part of the White Album.

They dramatically fell out with Maharishi Mahesh Yogi under a cloud of rumors that the guru – who was meant to be chaste – had made advances towards Mia.

The ashram is now colloquially known as the Beatles Ashram, and its ruins have become a tourist destination for Beatles fans from around the world.
