One by One: All the World Cups scheduled for 2025

2025 promises to be a memorable year for global sport, with a series of high-profile events. Among the highlights is the revamped FIFA Club World Cup, which now expands to 32 teams, with the participation of Boca Juniors, River Plate and Lionel Messi’s Inter Miami as the host club.

In addition to football, several other sports will host significant tournaments, including athletics, handball, volleyball, table tennis and various martial arts such as judo, taekwondo and karate. Additionally, notable youth championships with Argentine involvement include the men’s and women’s Under-21 Hockey World Cup and the men’s Under-20 Football World Cup, with Argentina’s qualification yet to be confirmed.

The sporting calendar kicks off on January 14th with the Men’s Handball World Championship. The Gladiators are placed in Group H together with Croatia, Bahrain and Egypt. September will be the busiest month of the year, with a total of six World Cups.
