This is a strong support. The shooter from Noyon, Olympic vice-champion this summer in Paris, Camille Jedrzejewskihas just given his support to the associations of his city. The clubs of Noyon are currently facing difficulties linked to the significant drop in their grants decided by the LR mayor Sandrine Dauchelle.
Judo coach mobilizes on TikTok
Shooting silver medalist Camille Jedrzejewski made her support known through a TikTok video by Michel Lebrun, technical director of Judo Club Noyon. Widely followed on social networks, the coach has been multiplying sarcastic videos in recent weeks on the budget cuts that have seen clubs cut by sometimes more than 60% of their annual subsidy.
In the last of them, the judoka expresses his anger, still in a humorous but grating tone, by listing the main grievances of the associations against their mayor Sandrine Dauchelle. In this video which begins… on the steps of the town hall, the coach forgets nothing or almost nothing: the reduction in subsidies of course, the synthetic pitch “at a million euros, which you can’t even afford to maintain”, the faulty lighting in the tennis courts, the heating problems in the gym this winter, the closure of the municipal swimming pool… He could have added the brand new fencing hall which, after having experienced leakage problems, is still not functional due to electronic problems.
In his short video, which has already been liked hundreds of times, the coach concludes by mentioning Olympic athlete Camille Jedrzejewski, whom the city “was not even able to properly host” after her Olympic medal, he says. The corrosive video ends with a short sequence of the shooting champion who “sends a message of support for the start of the school year to all the associations in Noyon.”
Mayor’s campaign promises resurface
The clubs – sports, cultural, charitable – have arranged to meet at the association festival on September 1st. While they were supposed to present their practices there, due to the budgetary crisis, they will be demonstrating their anger there. The meeting is scheduled for 10 am in front of the Yves-Guyon cultural center. A mobilization that for the moment “is taking off well”, we are told on the sidelines of the preparations.
Particularly angry, the associations motivated themselves in particular by sharing a campaign leaflet by Sandrine Dauchelle dedicated to associations. It contained around thirty promises. Reading them in hindsight was terrible for the mayor. She promised in particular “aid to make their daily lives easier”, to “offer equipment that meets their needs by renovating the infrastructure”, in particular “the swimming pool”, or “more fairness in the distribution of subsidies”. “More fairness” finally turned, four years later, into “less for everyone”. The clubs had misunderstood.
