Olympian Alberto Gaitero presents black belt certificates to Lanzarote judokas

The judoka Alberto Gaitero has visited Lanzarote to deliver black belt diplomas to young athletes from the island. The Valladolid man is one of the most recognized judokas in our countrywhich has led him to win two medals at the European Judo Championships, silver in 2022 and bronze in 2021, in the -66 kg category. In addition, he participated in the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games.

Furthermore, Gaitero also held a series of talks this Monday to convey high-performance sport and the importance of training and studies at those levels. The event, held at the Costa Teguise Judo Club, was also attended by the Sports Councilor of the Lanzarote Council, Juan Monzón.

Alejandro Ramírez, director of the Lanzarote club, has declared that “the visit of the Olympic athlete has served to highlight the values ​​of sport and what studying and training entails when you have a scholarship from the EEC and the hardness of having our relatives far away because in the first years this situation becomes a bit big.”
