WOOYOUNGMI
WOOYOUNGMI, founded by designer Woo Youngmi in 2002, emerged in Paris and became a menswear brand with a distinct international perspective. The brand has flagship stores in Paris and Seoul. As a member of the Chambre Syndicale de la Mode Masculine, WOOYOUNGMI has a place in the official menswear calendar.
OKYC PROJECTS
WOOYOUNGMI’s philosophy is rooted in a commitment to innovation and stylish design. The brand’s aesthetic combines luxurious fabrics with effortless tailoring, inspired by the artistic spirit of the bohemian lifestyle, presented through careful craftsmanship and creativity.
In 2020, WOOYOUNGMI launches a gender-borderless series, promoting the concept of “shared wardrobe” between men and women. This new direction continues to evolve each season, with the brand exploring cutting-edge fabric technologies and redefining luxury. Through embroidery, printing and the fusion of tradition and new technology, a unique narrative style is conveyed.
Spring Summer 2025
The concept of ABK (American-Born Korean) was born as waves of immigration over the past century gave rise to vibrant cross-cultural communities. This represents the fusion of various lifestyles into a diverse wardrobe style. For Spring/Summer 2025, WOOYOUNGMI expands the ABK concept into a broader exploration of shared style areas between South Korean and global cultures: from yuppie, preppy, surf bohemian, agri-utility and baseball uniforms. Through the brand’s forward-thinking Seoul perspective, the collection evolves into a dialogue between the past and the future, combining craftsmanship with cutting-edge design. Marking the brand’s most artisanal collection to date, it is deeply rooted in Korean craft tradition.

OKYC PROJECTS
Originating from the Far East Asian denim concept, the slender silhouette is belted at the waist, and the design is inspired by the cross cutouts of early baseball jackets. Elements of sportswear uniforms are present throughout the collection, in the form of corded suede jackets, suede or denim vests, knitted varsity jackets, cotton baseball jerseys, branded tops, corded denim leggings, and items made of leather, suede, cotton or denim. Made of structured baseball pants and shorts. The WYM logo is hand-painted in Korean calligraphy style on the satin baseball jacket.
The “Wild East” is reflected in durable overalls and twill and jeans. Knitted collared polo shirts, plaid shirts and boga shirts originated from the Korean knot art, stimulating the desire for organic and handicrafts, showing WOOYOUNGMI Minimalist and graphic aesthetic: wooden surf accessories with hand-painted rail-like WYM logo, mixed-material sneakers, woven leather loafers, hand-crocheted tops, and coats covered in mesh materials with bold graphic Vs Shape knitted skirt.
The Korean savannah is immortalized on tapestry trucker suits and bags, incorporating imagery from ancient Korean landscape paintings. Projecting a traditional atmosphere into the future, the hand-painted zigzag pattern is inspired by the geometric form of historical Korean patchwork, forming an organic and futuristic design. It appears throughout the series on nylon bomber jackets, reversible jackets, jersey shirts, surf tops, On the lining, waistband and bag.
On a journey across time and space between South Korea and the United States, the Spring/Summer 2025 collection showcases ABK’s relaxed yet formal yuppie tailoring, paired with shirts and ties. Through the collection’s bohemian attitude, the style transitions into flowing silk suits and coats, simple and ceremonial, reflecting the unique charm of oriental temple fabrics.
