Oksana Chusovitina, the gymnastics legend who has graced the world stage for over three decades, has announced her plans to compete in the 2026 World Cup competitions. The 50-year-old Uzbekistan native, a gold medalist at the 1992 Olympics and a three-time world champion, took a break from competition to focus on training.

“I am training, getting ready, and starting in January I will go to the World Cups.”
“I can’t say much more than that now. I am training, and then we’ll see how it goes. For the moment, I am in Tashkent, working in my academy, my school, so everything is going well for me.”

“But there is so much time before then, so I’m not thinking that far ahead. I go step-by-step, from one competition to the next. If it happens, it happens. If not, then no. But I will try, and I will give it everything I’ve got.”
