Oklahoma Track & Field Concludes SEC Indoor Championships

Sooners Finish Competition in College Station
COLLEGE STATION, Texas — The Oklahoma men’s and women’s track and field teams completed competition Saturday at the R.A. “Murray” Fasken ’38 Indoor Track &. Field Facility, concluding their participation in the SEC Indoor Championships. The men finished eighth while the women placed 13th.
Men’s Team Performance
The Oklahoma men accumulated 39.5 total points, with 22.5 points earned on the final day of competition from Tyson Ritz, BJ Green, Kyren Washington, Floyd Whitaker, Hilton Green and Tucker Smith.
- High Jump Success: Tyson Ritz earned a silver medal in the high jump with a personal-best clearance of 2.25m (7’4.50″). This mark ties him for second all-time in Oklahoma history with Kyren Washington. Washington too cleared 2.25m to claim the bronze medal.
- Pole Vault Points: BJ Green finished fifth in the men’s pole vault, clearing 5.46m (17’11.00″).
- Shot Put Contributions: Tucker Smith placed seventh in the men’s shot put with a mark of 18.61m (61’0.75″).
- Triple Jump Strength: BJ Green secured a silver medal in the men’s triple jump with a leap of 16.54m (53’11.25″). Floyd Whitaker followed closely, finishing fourth with a personal-best jump of 16.44m (53’11.25″).
Women’s Team Performance
The women’s team finished with 21.5 points, adding three points on Saturday from Tyley Dotson and Riley Ammenhauser.
- Shot Put Scoring: Tyley Dotson placed seventh in the women’s shot put, recording a throw of 15.90m (52’2″) to score two points.
- Triple Jump Result: Riley Ammenhauser registered a season-best 13.01m (42’8.25″) in the triple jump, finishing eighth.
- 3,000m Debut: Freshman Domtila Cheruto achieved a time of 9:04.30 in the women’s 3,000 meters, ranking third in Oklahoma history.
