In an interview with a Corriere della Sera The teacher of sinners gave a profound insight. “Everyone has said how important the team around him is. But the opposite is true: He is the leader, he shows us the way,” said Cahill about the world number one.

One of the most popular topics surrounding Jannik Sinner is still the doping problem. After two positive examples in the year, Sexten’s husband was acquitted by an independent court, but the World Anti-Doping Agency WADA has appealed. The offender must now answer before the International Court of Arbitration for Sport in Lausanne.

Cahill said: “After everything he’s been through, he realizes that he can deal with anything in life. Nothing can scare him anymore. ” What the coach means is this: Despite the doping problem, Sinner played like a hero and, for example, won the US Open during this difficult time.

“The worst moment was when we found good samples of doping,” says Cahill. “Alex Vittur (Sinful Director, editor’s note) received an email and told Jannik. That was amazing.” The Pusterer said that he did not sleep many nights, including before his Wimbledon match against Daniil Medvedev, who lost.

Darren Cahill also said: “We know suspensions are a possibility. But now we cannot change things. We can’t help but focus on our daily work. Whatever happens, Jannik will deal with it with his maturity and poise. And we will do everything we can to protect him. The tennis court is his best place, he is happy here, he knows that nothing bad can happen to him here.
