The Serbian tennis player seems particularly confident less than three weeks before the start of Roland-Garros.

After skipping the Masters 1000 in Madrid last week, Novak Djokovic will enter the fray on Friday in Rome. This will be his last preparation tournament on clay before Roland-Garros, which will begin on Sunday May 26.

The Serbian champion continues his rise in power with a view to the Grand Slam tournament in France. “I had a lot of time to rest and train. I had a good training block. I arrived in Rome two days ago to take a tour of the center court and to train for four or five days before my first match against top players,” he explained during a press conference.

A fourth Roland-Garros in perspective

A priori, the record holder for Grand Slam victories should arrive at Porte d’Auteuil in full possession of his means. “I think I’m on track to peak at Roland Garros. I hope that here, in Rome, I will play better than in Monte Carlo. It is the wish, obviously, to always go as far as possible”confided the native of Belgrade.

With the Spaniard Carlos Alcaraz and the Italian Jannik Sinner, Novak Djokovic will be one of the three main favorites for the final victory at Roland-Garros. A tournament that he has already won three times and of which he is the defending champion.
