Wendell Carter Jr. recorded a total of 13 points while Suggs contributed 10, but none of the other players on the Magic team reached double digits in points. This is notable because Franz Wagner had scored double-digit points in the last six games of the series, with a standout performance of 34 points in Game 4 and 26 points in Game 6. However, in this game, Wagner only scored six points and had a shooting percentage of 1-for-14 from the field (including 0-for-5 from three-point range).

The Cavaliers struggled with their outside shooting in the first half, only making 2 out of 11 attempts (17.8%) from beyond the arc. Sam Merrill was the only player to make a successful shot.

During ESPN’s halftime show, Stephen A. Smith described Banchero as a major player. Despite scoring 38 points, grabbing 16 rebounds, and making three steals in a losing game, Banchero didn’t receive enough support from his team.

Caris LeVert contributed 15 points for the Cavaliers, alongside Max Strus who scored 13 and Darius Garland with 12 points. This provided Mitchell with more assistance than he had in the previous game where they lost. Evan Mobley stood out on the defensive end with 16 rebounds and five blocks.

But Strus successfully made two shots from beyond the arc, which ended Cleveland’s difficulties with making long-range shots and contributed to the team’s comeback. Additionally, Garland’s three-pointer extended the Cavs’ lead to their largest margin of 88-77 with less than six minutes left in the game.

Mitchell continued to receive minimal assistance, but managed to carry the Cavs for the second game in a row. Despite facing tough defense from Jalen Suggs, Mitchell delivered a stellar performance. Although he struggled in the first half, shooting 3-for-13 and scoring only 15 points, he was determined and scored 17 points in the third quarter to lead the team’s comeback.

“The Cleveland Cavaliers have advanced to the second round of the NBA playoffs thanks to Donovan Mitchell’s impressive performance once again.”

The Cleveland team appeared depleted as they trailed by 18 points during the second quarter. However, they managed to decrease their deficit to 10 points, 53-43, by halftime and made a comeback, taking the lead at 65-64. In the third quarter, the Cavaliers dominated, outscoring Orlando 33-15, and entering the fourth quarter with a 76-68 lead.

During the third quarter, Banchero had a total of four points while only making 1 out of 7 shots with Isaac Okoro defending him. His lack of contribution in scoring greatly impacted Cleveland’s comeback.

The first match of the second-round series between the Cavaliers and Celtics will take place on Tuesday. The game will start at 7 p.m. ET and will be broadcasted on TNT.

Mitchell’s game performance on Sunday afternoon in Game 7, where he scored 39 points, was not as impressive as his 50-point score in Game 6 last Friday. However, thanks to his contribution, the Cavs were able to defeat the Orlando Magic with a score of 106-94 and ultimately win the first-round playoff series 4-3.

In his first Game 7 of the playoffs, Paolo Banchero attempted to make a statement and prove himself as an NBA star, as the Magic’s season hung in the balance.

The team playing on their own turf emerged victorious in every game in the seven-part series. Orlando seemed to have the upper hand after dominating Cleveland in Games 3 and 4. In Game 6, despite Mitchell’s 50 points, the Cavaliers were unable to reach 100 points.
