Groves had initially committed to Yale as a junior but reopened his recruitment in recent weeks. He received offers from Texas Tech, the Gophers, and Wisconsin last Monday.

He had planned to take an unofficial visit to the Gophers soon, but Texas Tech’s coach sealed the deal before that visit could take place.
