Vietnamese Badminton Duo Compete at Singapore International Tournament
Veteran Nguyen Tien Minh continues his competitive career alongside wife Vu Thi Trang at the Singapore International Badminton Tournament.
A Legacy Continues
At 43 years old, Nguyen Tien Minh is still pursuing his passion for badminton, participating in the Singapore International Badminton Tournament. The former world bronze medalist and four-time Olympian, once ranked 5th in the world by the Badminton World Federation (BWF), brings a wealth of experience to the competition.
Despite no longer being in his prime, Nguyen Tien Minh actively supports his wife, Vu Thi Trang, in training and provides tactical advice during matches.
Vu Thi Trang’s Pursuit of Success
Vu Thi Trang, wife of Nguyen Tien Minh, is also competing in the women’s singles event. She secured her place in the main draw, demonstrating her dedication and skill. At the 33rd Southeast Asian Games in Thailand last year, Vu Thi Trang won a bronze medal in women’s doubles with Bui Bich Phuong.

Vu Thi Trang is currently ranked 138th in the world.
Other Vietnamese Competitors
Alongside the seasoned duo, other Vietnamese players are also participating in the tournament, including Nguyen Hai Dang (ranked 69th in the world) and Le Duc Phat (ranked 107th in the world) who qualified directly for the main draw. Nguyen Dinh Hoang, Tran Dinh Manh, Pham Thi Khanh, Pham Thi Dieu Ly and Phan Phuc Thinh are also representing Vietnam.
