A wind of worry passed through the American Airlines Center, the arena of the Dallas Mavericks. While the Texan franchise hosts the Minnesota Timberwolves this Wednesday for the NBA’s “Christmas Day”, Slovenian superstar Luka Doncic had to leave the floor in the middle of the second quarter, visibly injured in the leg.

While he had the ball in the offensive phase, Doncic seemed to take poor support on his left leg, the same one that has already bothered him in recent months. He immediately passed the ball to a teammate and limped off the floor, as the game continued and the Mavs even suffered a counterattack, with one less player unable to get back on defense.

Already trailing by 10 points at the time of the injury, the Mavericks saw their best player return to the locker room hobbling and looking down, inevitably with an ounce of worry for the future. Doncic had already been sidelined for several days last October with a bruised left calf.
