A 15th-round pick of the Red Sox in 2022, Landry will take Didier Vargas’ place with the Eagles. Vargas recently suffered a season-ending injury, which opened the door for the Eagles to add Landry to their roster when he was released by Massachusetts.
Over the past three years, the Victoriaville native, who has long played in the Eagles’ structure, has shared the past three seasons between the university ranks, the rookie level, single A and A+ in the world of baseball.
This season, the former Dragons of Collège Laflèche played with the Greenville Drive (A-Strong) where he had a record of two wins and one loss. He posted an earned run average of 5.24. Sent to the mound for a total of 46 innings, he signed 48 strikeouts and gave up 27 walks.
As for the Eagles, they are clinging to the hope of sneaking into the playoffs at the last second. There are 12 games left in their 2024 campaign and they have a record of 41 wins and 43 losses, which puts them three games out of 3rd place in the East, the last of which gives access to the playoffs in the Frontier League.
They finish their series of the week this Thursday against the Quebec Capitales. They will then be in New Jersey to face the Jackals, the worst team in the circuit in the general classification.
