On September 13, the first Zhejiang Pickleball Invitational Tournament and the National Pickleball Championship Zhejiang 2024 kicked off in Xinchang, attracting more than a hundred pickleball enthusiasts and top players from 11 cities across the province. It is said that the tournament includes the round and knock-out team competition, which has four individual events: men’s singles, women’s singles, men’s doubles, and women’s doubles in each event will represent Zhejiang Province in the National Pickleball Championship that will be held at the end of this month.

Like the upcoming sport that combines tennis, badminton and table tennis, pickleball has simple rules, is easy to learn, and has strong characteristics. At the Paris Olympics, pickleball was included as a multi-sport event for the first time.

Before the match, an Intermediate Pickleball Coaches Training Camp was held in Xinchang. This was the first time that an Intermediate Pickleball Coaches Camp was held nationwide. The competent person in charge of the Provincial Social Sports Guidance Center said that in the future, the development of pickleball in our province should listen equally to teachers and athletes, and greatly increase the number of pickleball people through competition and marketing activities.
