BELLINZAGO NOVARESE – Moncalieri continued his winning streak in the championship, bringing home another three points with a narrow victory at the Bellinzago pitch. The team led by Ferrarese, thanks to a goal from Ceppari in the second half, maintains the top of the table and consolidates the first position.
The game was characterized by constant balance, with both teams struggling to find space to impose their game. Moncalieri almost took the lead in the first few minutes: in the 3rd minute, Mellano started on the wing and served an excellent cross to Repetti, whose header, intended for the goal, was involuntarily denied by teammate Gueli.
Bellinzago immediately responded to the dangerous move of Barbini, who in the 5th minute tried a shot to cross, but the deadlock was not broken. From then on, the first half ended without further significant opportunities.
The second half started with Moncalieri determined to find the net. Correale had a good chance with a volley, which went just wide of the target. A few minutes later, in the 50th minute, the turning point came: Gueli put a perfect cross into the area and Ceppari, ready for the tap-in, scored the decisive goal that gives his team leadership.
Despite the reaction of Bellinzago, who aggressively looked for an equalizer, Moncalieri’s defense managed to hold on until the final whistle. The most dangerous action for the hosts occurred in the 85th minute, when Barchi created trouble with a dangerous ball in the area, but the Moncalierese rearguard was able to avoid the danger.
At the end of the game, Mister Ferrarese commented on the victory as follows: “We are a team that has been growing for many weeks, so it is unthinkable to win every match with a certain number of goals. Throughout the championship, there are and are matches like today, but despite those adversity we kept our sanity and didn’t suffer any big risks. We really need and can do better, but I’m satisfied with the performance, because winning always helps you believe in the work you do in weeks. We faced a good team, on a difficult pitch, but we didn’t steal anything, from my point of view: we definitely got new ideas to work on, so thank our opponents.
Even the winner of the match, Elisa Ceppari, spoke about the match and her decisive goal: “Today was a complicated game: they are a physical team and the pitch did not allow us to impose our game, but these games are about the journey. It really helped to believe in it from the beginning to the end. My positive That start? It’s a process that started last year with Coach, who asked me to work on my position on the pitch. The credit, obviously, also goes to my teammates: when the ball hits the spot, it means with someone doing a good job in the previous meters.
