Milan Unlikely to Pursue Permanent Deal for West Ham Loanee Niclas Füllkrug

Serie A side AC Milan are currently not expected to make Niclas Füllkrug’s loan move from West Ham United permanent.

Füllkrug joined the Rossoneri on a loan deal in January, with Milan holding a purchase option. Despite scoring a crucial goal against Lecce, the German striker has yet to make a Serie A start for the club.

Injury Concerns and Limited Impact

According to reports, even if Füllkrug were to meet the demands of manager Max Allegri, he has struggled to establish himself within the team. A toe injury further complicated his progress, significantly impacting his form and availability.

Daniele Longo reports that even if Fullkrug offers what Max Allegri demands from his striker, he has failed to establish himself.

The 33-year-old is reportedly only at half of his full fitness level due to the lingering effects of the injury. Whereas his return to action sooner than initially anticipated raised some eyebrows, the issue continues to affect his performance on the pitch.

Füllkrug’s Background

Niclas Füllkrug, born February 9, 1993, in Hanover, Germany, came through the Werder Bremen youth academy. He has also played for Greuther Fürth, Nürnberg, Hannover 96, Borussia Dortmund, and West Ham United.

Prior to joining West Ham, Füllkrug had a successful season with Borussia Dortmund, making 42 appearances and scoring 15 goals, including three in the Champions League. He also represented Germany at the World Cup in Qatar.

As it stands, a permanent move for Füllkrug to Milan appears increasingly unlikely, leaving his future with West Ham uncertain.
