Media work in the BJV’s social networks

For this purpose, we started a meta business account at the beginning of 2022 Facebook and Instagram to link. In early 2024, Threads was added to this meta account to generate even greater reach.

In addition to the publication about judo sport in Brandenburg and the association’s work, dates, advertisements and club contributions are published right from the start. On special events such as the U23 European Championships in Potsdam or the German Youth Cup in Senftenberg, there was intensified short reporting with collaboration partners and co-authors such as DJB, the sports schools or the organizing club. This possibility of cooperation is of course available to all judo clubs in Brandenburg at their tournaments and special club events and is to be expanded in the future.

Through constant reporting on social media, the press team has now been able to generate a considerable number of followers and thus significantly increase interest in the detailed reports on our homepage. The views of the articles and dates on the homepage were doubled. While 841,133 hits were registered in 2022, by November 2024 there had already been over 1.5 million hits.

The development of the number of followers and the reach of posts on social networks also increased significantly this year. There has been very good development and response, particularly on Instagram. With our reporting on the Youth Cup in Senftenberg 2024, we reached over 1,000 followers 1000 User. The average post reach on this platform is now over 50,000 users. This creates an enormous advertising factor for judo in Brandenburg for everyone, right up to the acquisition of members in our clubs.

These numbers show the potential that social networks have. This should especially be used to promote the most beautiful sport in the world even more. For this reason, everyone in the association, at the sports schools, in the performance centers and in the clubs should use the opportunities of our media presence to further advance judo in Brandenburg with the appropriate contributions, photos, videos and links.

At this point we would particularly like to thank the one that has existed since December 2023 WhatsApp-Advertise channel. As a supplement to the existing media, the channel is intended to offer further information and links to the new articles and dates on the homepage.

The press team would like to expand and, if necessary, expand the social media work in the future. A promising test run with the TikTok platform took place at the beginning of 2024, but it could not be expanded further due to capacity reasons. The use of social media formats with moving images and personalized short videos would require support from the TikTok user target group. For this purpose and also for supporting work in the social networks, we are still looking for interested contributors, but we still need your input from the clubs, performance centers and sports schools for press work. Please use the existing communication channels via email (socialmedia@bjv-judo.de), the chat functions on Instagram & Co or directly via WhatApp.

While a picture and a short text are often enough for publications on social networks, our association’s website offers the opportunity to publish more detailed information about the clubs’ activities, Dan exams, honors, competition results and much more. To do this, we always need at least one meaningful image in landscape format with the corresponding text. Please send this information to presse@bjv-judo.de

We as the BJV media team would like to thank you very much for the cooperation with the clubs and all our partners in 2024 and wish us to continue working together on our presence on the BJV web and our social media channels in the new year 2025 work.
