The Mayor’s Office of Medellín activated the route to promote and maintain oral health through the “Medellín Wants You Healthy” program, which focuses on self-care and risk detection from the earliest years.
“We are going to reach the 16 communes and the five townships, through the basic teams and with the oral hygienists, with whom we have visited 117 Buen Comienzo children’s centers and 16 ICBF homes, impacting more than 10,000 children with educational actions in “mouth care”
explained the leader of the Promotion and Prevention Unit of the Ministry of Health, Lina Bedoya.
To date, 410 kits containing toothbrush, floss and toothpaste have been delivered. In the last month, 758 awareness-raising activities on oral health care were carried out.
