The latest addition to the PGA Tour galaxy, the Myrtle Beach Classic, welcomes this week an army of contenders for the highest echelons of world golf. In this so-called “alternate” tournament, everyone sets out to win the 300 Fedex points promised to the winner and synonymous with a huge boost to get their careers off the ground. Among them, three French people and one Belgian are in the running this week.
This week, on the immense shores of South Carolina, a solid contingent of 132 units landed. Making his way through the expanses of sand Myrtle Beachtwo regiments stand out.
The reinforcements called from DP World Tour intended to swell with their thirst for victory the ranks of PGA Tour. And the eternal faithful of the American circuit, accustomed to long grueling seasons without having until now known the holy grail of success in the elite.
In the golf oasis of The Dunes Golf and Beach Clubhost of Myrtle Beach Classic, two men represent, at the top of the ranking, each grouping. The first, Robert MacIntyre (photo), who left his talents expatriated from his native Scotland after years of good service on the European circuit. The second, Beau Hosslerprototype of the American golfer who has several times come close to a saving victory for years without ever achieving it.

The two men with very different trajectories finally met on the course on this first day of competition around the same card, a 64 (-7) to take control of this alternate tournament.
Enough to rekindle the heart of the Briton, loquacious at the start of the week when discussing his uneasiness since his expatriation to the United States: “ Here, nothing resembles the European Tour. Everyone is in their own corner, the atmosphere is not friendly like on the DP World Tour. That’s how it is, there are fewer discussions, fewer dinners, it’s not a big family here. »
Adrien Dumont de Chassart starts well, mixed results for the blues
Here is one who knows how to take advantage of the opportunities within his reach. At the heart of a difficult season, with seven missed cuts in thirteen attempts, the Belgian Adrien Dumont de Chassart found a way to survive: alternate tournaments. These two best results this season (6th to Puerto Rico and 23rd to Punta Cana) are also signed there, and this seems to be on track to be the case again this week. The red devil is 13th after the first day of competition after starting in 67 (-4).
Two points behind, in 38th place, Paul Barjon marks here the best start for a French player this week. His 69 (-2) gives him every chance of defending his chances this weekend if he continues his momentum on Friday. We will have to fight harder to Victor Perez et Martin Trainer, authors of average starts in par (71), relegated to 67th place. Just outside the cut for now!
