Arnaud-Beltrame College Badminton Team Secures National Championship Berth

The Arnaud-Beltrame college badminton team is heading to the French national championship after a remarkable performance at the UNSS academic championship. The team qualified on February 11th.

Dominating Performance Leads to Qualification

The team, comprised of Marius, Ambre, Timaé, Laurine and Maya, competed in Evron in Mayenne against teams from all departments of the academy, according to Christian Pernès, a PE teacher at Arnaud-Beltrame college.

It was the first time for our school that we reached this level in badminton.

A Hard-Fought Victory

After four matches, the Luçon team emerged victorious, defeating the Nantes team. Nantes was a team we beat when we met, so we were victorious! The Arnaud-Beltrame college team won three out of four matches, automatically qualifying them for the national competition.

The national championship will take place in Avignon from June 1st to June 5th.

Recent Athletic Achievements at Arnaud-Beltrame

This qualification follows other recent successes for Arnaud-Beltrame college athletes. The college’s Laser Run team was recently named academic vice champion on February 4th, 2026. The school’s badminton team was crowned departmental champions on January 28th, 2026, and the school’s handball-basketball team competed in January 2026.

The school also hosted a visit from the crew of the Vigilant submarine on January 9th, 2026, who led workshops for students.
