Perugia Nightlife Crackdown: Loft Lounge Experience Shut Down
Authorities have shuttered the Loft Lounge Experience in Sant’Andrea delle Fratte, Perugia, following a preventive seizure prompted by safety concerns. The action comes after heightened scrutiny following the events of New Year’s Eve in Crans Montana.
Safety Violations Lead to Closure
The closure was initiated after inspections conducted by police forces, firefighters, and technicians from ASL Umbria 1. Investigators found the venue lacked a public entertainment license and had only one emergency exit.
A violation of maximum capacity limits was also discovered. According to reports, the Loft hosted a number of patrons exceeding the legally permitted limit, creating a potentially dangerous situation.
“The emergency exits themselves were found to be insufficient: the need for an additional escape route emerged to ensure the safety of customers.”
Part of a Broader Crackdown
The Loft’s closure is part of a wider effort to ensure safety in Perugia’s nightlife establishments. Similar measures were recently taken at the Cobarì Lounge Bar and The Zoo.
Key Findings from the Inspection
- Absence of a public entertainment license.
- Insufficient number of emergency exits.
- Overcrowding – exceeding the maximum permitted capacity.
Looking Ahead
The Loft Lounge Experience remains closed pending resolution of the identified safety issues. Authorities have not yet announced a timeline for reopening.
