A Hard-Fought Victory

Erten received a bye in the initial round and then navigated through four challenging matches to reach the final in the under-46 kg weight class. His journey to the gold medal culminated in a thrilling overtime battle against Moritz Nitsch of TSV Großhadern Munich.

Neither athlete secured an early decision, forcing the match into overtime. After 5 minutes and 58 seconds, Erten executed a hip throw, bringing his opponent down and securing a Yuko score, ultimately claiming the championship title.

“The dream of an Olympic medal” is something the young martial artist already carries with him – and apparently his potential on the judo mat is really enormous.

Anastasija Bodirogic (-48 kg) and Corbinian Braunst (-73 kg) faced strong competition and were unfortunately eliminated in the early rounds.

Adding to the success, Hannah Glauner (-57 kg; JC Wermelskirchen) and Lev Unterberg (-81 kg; Stella Bevergern), both team fighters who will soon compete in the Bundesliga for the Kälberweg team, also won gold medals in Leipzig.
