Limougeaud Club Signs First Foreign Player

Guaranteed to evolve among the elite at the start of the school year, the Limougeaud club has announced the signing of its first foreign player and should accelerate on the construction of its next workforce.

Limoges CSP is going to have to make some moves this season. After seeing the pivot Selom Mawugbe (24 years old, 2.08m), one of its main targets slip away at Le Mans, the Limoges club has just tried a first by securing the services of the American Kameron McGusty (25 years, 1.97m).

The young scoring back will arrive from Piacenza where he launched his professional career in the Italian second division. Undrafted in 2022 after his NCAA course under the colors of the Miami Hurricanes despite good statistics and a qualification for the Elite 8 of March Madness, the native of Houston impressed with an average of 19.3 points and 4 rebounds in 30 minutes per game in the A2 league.

Bryson Williams’s Uncertain Future

The Limoges CSP worked on other avenues in parallel with the Kameron McGusty deal. The potential signing of American power forward Bryson Williams (25 years old, 2.03m), who was recently a free agent after his stint with Bourg-en-Bresse, may prove difficult to materialize as the player is not particularly inclined to return to the French championship. However, the Limougeaud club remains hopeful of securing the services of international center Alexandre Chassang (28 years old, 1.97m).

The former Dijonnais, who recently underwent hand surgery, had a challenging season in Bressan but would be a valuable addition for the Limougeaud club, compensating for the departure of Wilfried Yeguete to Le Mans. Convincing Chassang may be complicated, but not impossible.

Hugo Desseignet’s New Journey

While Alexandre Chassang may not be overly enthusiastic about joining Limoges due to the club’s financial situation, he may not have many options available at the moment. This could work in favor of the Limoges CSP.

In terms of departures, Hugo Desseignet (20 years old, 1.72m), the leader of the Espoirs, vice-champion of France and finalists of the Trophy of the future, has signed with Loon-Plage. The talented playmaker will begin his professional career in N1, as the northern club was not authorized to compete in ProB despite their victory in the third division playoffs.

Premium According to Christophe Lepetit, the decision of the DNCCG to engage Limoges CSP in Betclic Elite is not “a blank check”.
