The badminton section of the Lanester Secular Home celebrated its 40th anniversary within the sports club on Friday January 19, 2024. “The anniversary should have been in 2023 but we did not find the time to organize it. We proposed a raclette evening to which 45 of our 138 members responded,” explains Camille Le Gohlisse, the current president.

Three big events in 2024

Since its creation, the club has been chaired by seven people: Thierry Druyer, Jean-Louis Maizier, Patrick Michel, Stéphanie Le Gouallec, Jean-Yves Le Gouallec, Yoann Le Goff and Camille Le Gohlisse, president for four years. “The club grew to 185 members in 2019. We still have a third of women and two-thirds of men. On the other hand, we note a decrease among young people,” informs the president. Three events will mark the year 2024: namely a first night tournament on February 16 with already 138 registered for the men’s and mixed doubles, the organization of the Morbihan championship on June 1 and 2 and the national tournament on June 22 and 23 .
