Land Rover Evoque Transformed: Milner LRM-1 Rally Raid Vehicle Heads to Auction

A highly modified Land Rover Evoque, the Milner LRM-1, is set to go under the hammer with Iconic Auctioneers on February 21st. This isn’t your typical city-dwelling crossover; it’s a purpose-built rally raid vehicle engineered for extreme performance.

From City Streets to Desert Dunes

The Range Rover has increasingly turn into a symbol of luxury, often seen in urban settings. However, the Milner LRM-1 represents a dramatic departure from this trend. Describing it as Evoque on steroids would be a massive understatement.

Engineering a Rally Raid Monster

Beneath the custom bodywork, inspired by the first generation Evoque (2011-2018), lies a spaceframe chassis and genuine racing technology. Developed in collaboration between Milner Off Road and renowned Land Rover specialist Simmonites Ltd., the LRM-1 is built to MSA standards. The vehicle is brand latest and has not yet competed in any events.

The LRM-1 draws inspiration from the Land Rover Evoque’s recent successes in rally-raid events, including the Dakar Rally. Although the Evoque isn’t traditionally associated with such demanding terrain, the LRM-1 aims to change that.

Power and Performance

This machine is powered by a 6.2-liter LS3 V8 engine sourced from the Chevrolet Corvette, delivering 525 horsepower. Power is transferred to all four wheels via a five-speed Tremec TK600 transmission, with locking differentials front and rear for maximum traction.

To handle the rigors of off-road racing, the LRM-1 features a coilover suspension with substantial suspension travel. A stainless steel exhaust system and a high-performance braking system complete the package.

Street Legal Capability

Remarkably, the Milner LRM-1 is not only registered with Motorsport UK but is similarly street legal in Great Britain. Auction estimates place its value between £65,000 and £75,000 (approximately €74,747 to €86,247).

A Legacy of Land Rover in Rallying

The Evoque name has a limited history in motorsport, with the “Excite Rallye Raid Team” entering a modified Evoque – the “Desert Warrior 3” – in the 2013 Dakar Rally. This effort recalled the early days of the Dakar Rally, when Range Rovers were a common sight on the starting grid.
