SANTO DOMINGO. The representation of La Romana won first place in the First Domingo Germán Alcalá Judo Cup held at the entity’s premises at the Romanense Sports Complex.

The judokas of the La Romana Judo Association obtained a total of 873 points, the product of eight gold medals, seven silver and three bronze, to take over the great champions cup.

The team from the Villa Francisca judo club took over the third place cup after winning four first place metals and another second place, for 410 units, just like Monte Plata.

Fourth place belonged to the San Pedro de Macorís delegation, with 112 points, after adding four medals, including one gold, one silver and two bronze.

Recognitions

The tournament, organized by the La Romana Judo Association, with the endorsement of the Dominican Judo Federation (Fedojudo), was held in posthumous tribute to Domingo Germán Alcalá in recognition of his dedication, discipline in the Romana association.

The directors of the entity also presented recognition to Luisa Martínez, general secretary of Fedojudo, and to referee Dagoberto Botello.
