Ladislav Krejci Joins Wolverhampton

Girona player Ladislav Krejci has bid farewell to his teammates, having agreed to join Wolverhampton. The transfer, worth over 30 million euros, is one of the most significant sales in Girona’s history. Krejci leaves after a brief spell in the Gerundense shirt, his last game being against Villarreal last Sunday.

Defensive Reinforcements Next on the Agenda

Following Krejci’s departure, Girona is now in the market for a central defender. Diogo Leite, a 26-year-old Portuguese center-back from Union Berlin, has emerged as a top target. With a contract expiring at the end of the season, Leite’s market value is around 17 million euros, though Girona could potentially sign him for 10. With 90 Bundesliga games under his belt, Leite brings valuable experience to the table.

Girona is a powder keg, with Michel struggling to find the right balance and solve defensive frailties carried over from last season. Some players lack the required quality, and four more signings are needed to strengthen the team.

Striker and Midfield Targets Revealed

Girona is also prioritizing the signing of a striker, with Vladylav Vântat of Kyiv Dynamo being the main candidate. An offer of 10 million euros has been made, though negotiations continue. Additionally, the club aims to sign a defensive midfielder (with Icon being the top option) and an offensive/interior midfielder to complete their summer transfers.

With the transfer deadline set for next Monday, September 1, Girona must accelerate its plans. Krejci’s departure provides the much-needed funds to reinforce the team, but time is running out to find and secure the necessary reinforcements.
