Kemperl Badminton Club veterans are doing well.

The development of badminton is among those who are over 35 years old, the national veteran circuit was created by the French Federation. Badminton Club Kemperl organized this round of the tournament for two days. As of 2011 We applied for a new French Veterans Championship in 2018, it didn’t happen but this third round of the national circuit in the category was a great success. We were full with 265 players. We should congratulate our volunteers who can be proud of this great organization, said BCK President Jackie Hamoniouz, who counts 126 veterans among the 403 members.

There is no age limit

Badminton allows you to play at any age, BCK makes it easy to find partners during multiple training sessions. This weekend, the club even had two 65-year-old players among its participants. “There is no problem playing in this kind of competition because we are divided by age group. The only problem is the sequence of matches, you can get tired after three or four matches, but you feel good,” smiled Yves Hamoniaux, one of BCK’s latest recruits.

Local players are on course to qualify for the French Veterans Championship in Tournefeuille Languedoc. There were five gold medalists in V1-V2 (35-40 years), Maggy Delabrosse and Gaetane Gouallou in doubles series 2, Nolwen Fer and Mylene Suudo in doubles series 1 and Fabien Porche in singles.

In V5-V6 (ages 55-60) Jacques Herrmann won silver in mixed doubles with Brigitte Kerbol. Mathieu Barre, Xavier Beaujeu, Mathieu Chardon, Tony Fleury, Yves Hamoneux, Fabien Modicom, Lucie Nguyen and Stéphane Rolland won bronze medals.
