Late Drama in the Eredivisie

Republic of Ireland attacker Troy Parrott continued his brilliant goalscoring campaign with AZ Alkmaar on Saturday, netting an injury-time equaliser against Excelsior before AZ went on to win it 2-1 in the 96th minute.

Ilias Bronkhorst fired Parrott’s former club Excelsior ahead just before halftime, and it looked like that strike would settle the Eredivisie contest at Stadion Woudestein.

Though, Parrott equalised with a shot in the 92nd minute, and Alexandre Penetra completed a stunning turnaround with a header four minutes later. The victory moved AZ Alkmaar up to sixth in the table.

Bundesliga Roundup: Kane Reaches Milestone

Harry Kane scored his 500th career goal as Bayern Munich cruised to a 3-0 Bundesliga victory at Werder Bremen.

The England skipper reached the landmark when he converted a 22nd-minute penalty and then added a second three minutes later – his 25th and 26th in the league this season – before Leon Goretzka wrapped up the points.

Second-half strikes from Fisnik Asllani, Ozan Kabak and substitute Valentin Gendrey handed third-placed Hoffenheim a 3-0 home win over Freiburg.

Ermedin Demirovic and Deniz Undav both scored at the death to supply Stuttgart a 3-1 home win over Cologne.

Demirovic’s early goal and Ragnar Ache’s 79th-minute equaliser meant it was all to play for as the game entered the final eight minutes, but the Stuttgart striker doubled his tally before Undav struck in stoppage time.

Goals from Jarell Quansah, Patrik Schick, Edmond Tapsoba and Ernest Poku eased Bayer Leverkusen to a 4-0 home win over St Pauli and into fifth place.

Nathaniel Brown, Ayoube Amaimouni-Echghouyab and substitute Ansgar Knauff were on target as Eintracht Frankfurt beat Borussia Monchengladbach 3-0.

Ransford Konigsdorffer scored twice as Hamburg edged out Union Berlin. Konigsdorffer contributed his side’s first and final goals in a 3-2 home win with Nicolas Capaldo scoring in between.

LaLiga and Serie A Action

Real Madrid climbed to the top of LaLiga with a comprehensive 4-1 win over Real Sociedad. Vinicius Junior scored two penalties while Gonzalo García and Federico Valverde were also on target, with Mikel Oyarzabal replying with a spot-kick to send Madrid two points clear of Barcelona.

Mauro Arambarri’s penalty and Martín Satriano’s header either side of halftime saw Getafe dent Villarreal’s top-four hopes as the visitors went down 2-1 at the Estadio Coliseum despite substitute Georges Mikautadze’s late strike.

Borja Iglesias stoppage-time equaliser secured a 2-2 draw for Celta Vigo at Espanyol. The visitors led at the break through Ferran Jutgla’s opener, but goals from substitutes Kike Garcia and Tyrhys Dolan looked to have won it for the hosts until Iglesias’ last-gasp intervention.

Toni Martinez spared Alaves blushes as they came from behind to draw 1-1 at nine-man Sevilla. The hosts, who had midfielder Juanlu Sanchez sent off, went ahead through Djibril Sow, but Martinez levelled on the hour.

Piotr Zielinski sent Inter Milan eight points clear at the top of Serie A as his last-minute goal clinched a 3-2 Derby d’Italia victory over 10-man Juventus.

Wesley Said and substitute Rayan Fofana both scored twice either side of Florian Thauvin’s penalty as Lens routed Paris FC 5-0 at the Stade Jean Bouin to climb to the top of the table.

Joaquín Panichelli’s penalty in the seventh minute of stoppage time denied Marseille victory as Strasbourg fought back from 2-0 down to snatch a point at the Velodrome.

Mason Greenwood and Amine Gouiri had put the hosts into a strong position, but substitute Sebastian Nanasi reduced the deficit before Panichelli secured a 2-2 draw from the spot.

Lille needed a late equaliser from substitute Gaetan Perrin to claim a 1-1 home draw with Brest, who had gone ahead through Remy Labeau Lascary.
