Thomas Returns to Competition, Eyes Bay Hill

After several months of absence, Justin Thomas made his return to competitive golf by participating in a TGL event on Monday. The appearance marked his first competitive match since undergoing a microdiscectomy in November to address a disc issue that caused persistent hip pain. His official return to the PGA Tour is scheduled for the Arnold Palmer Invitational.

Thomas participated in a TGL match on February 23rd, where his Atlanta Drive team defeated Boston Common 5-2. He did not participate in Atlanta’s second match of the night.

He has been cleared for full golf activities for about a month and feels his speed is close to normal.

I had adrenaline to spare,” Thomas said after sending his first wedge a hundred yards over the green and into a bunker. He hit 12 shots (excluding putts) during the TGL competition.
