Judo Samurai Athletes Shine at City of Guastalla Trophy, Qualify for Italian Championships
JESI, Italy – Judo Samurai athletes delivered a strong performance at the City of Guastalla Trophy this weekend, securing multiple podium finishes and qualifying for upcoming national championships. The club is also gearing up for the final event of the European Judo4Sen project in Naples.
Trophy Success in Guastalla
Elia Coppari and Olimpia Lammoglia led the charge, earning first place in their respective categories. Alessia Ilari claimed second place, while Elena Dolcemele and Petra Mussoni both secured bronze medals.

Italian Championship Qualification
The success didn’t stop at the City of Guastalla Trophy. Several Judo Samurai athletes also excelled in regional qualifications for the Italian Championships. Francesco Papalini and Michele Rossini both finished first in their weight categories, and Davide Scarponi secured second place.
All three athletes – Papalini, Rossini, and Scarponi – have now qualified for the Italian Cadet Championships in Leini on March 22nd, and the Junior Championships in Puglia on March 28th.
Judo4Sen Project Nears Completion
Looking ahead, Judo Samurai is preparing to host the final event of the European Judo4Sen project in Naples. The event will be held at Maestro Maddaloni’s gym in Scampia and will feature youth training sessions for 8-10-12 year olds. Experts will also participate in a subsequent debate on the role of judo in the psycho-physical training of young people.
