Kodokan Judo Athletes Advance to National Finals

Gorle, Italy – Athletes from the Kodokan judo club demonstrated strong performances at the recent Italian Judo Championships qualifying phases, held at the Palalovato in Gorle (BG). The results have secured spots for several athletes in the upcoming national finals.

Savi Claims Gold, Sakamoto Earns Bronze

Mattia Savi dominated the U21 competition in the 66 kg category, winning gold after four consecutive victories. This achievement qualifies him for the A2 final in Bari on March 28th.

Musashi Sakamoto, competing in the U18 division, secured a bronze medal in the 55 kg category despite recently recovering from the flu. Sakamoto’s performance earned him a place in the A2 final in Turin on March 21st.

Other Kodokan Athletes Compete

Pietro Briceag, returning from an injury, narrowly missed qualification in the U18 66kg category, falling short by just one match. Mirco Bettelli will bypass the qualifying rounds and compete directly in the A1 final of the U21 Championships in Veneto on May 16th, due to his 27th-place ranking nationally.
