Meanwhile, the Loire/Haute-Loire seniors’ departmental championship saw Florian Tavernier claim third place in the +100 kg category, and Fabrice Duval secure the runner-up spot, flying high the Brives-Charensac flag.
Golden Moments for the Youngsters
Benjamins departmental championship crowned two homegrown talents on February 1. Adrien Bouin (-46 kg) and Célian Arnaud (-55 kg) conquered the -46 kg and -55 kg categories respectively, earning them places in the interdepartmental championship on March 8 at Ceyrat.

Célian Arnaud also shone at the Volcanique Cup in Clermont-Ferrand, securing the top spot in the -55 kg division after an impressive two ippon wins in the group stage and a controlled semi-final. He went on to triumph in the final by ippon, a notable achievement for this humble judoka.
