Screening Tests Successfully Conducted for J&K Ball Badminton Teams
The Jammu and Kashmir Sports Council (JKSC) successfully conducted screening tests for the Senior and Sub-Junior Ball Badminton Teams on Friday, September 19, 2025, at the iconic Bakshi Stadium in Srinagar. The event, under the ‘My Youth My Pride’ initiative, aimed to select the best talent to represent the region at the upcoming National Championships in Dindigul, Tamil Nadu from September 25 to 28.
Why it matters: This is a crucial step in identifying the state’s top players and fostering local talent for national and international exposure.
Intensive Training Camp Prepares Players for National Stage
Prior to the screening tests, shortlisted players underwent a rigorous 21-day residential coaching camp at Gindun Sports Stadium, Rajbagh, Srinagar. The camp, organized by the J&K Ball Badminton Association (JKBBA) under JKSC’s supervision, provided intensive training and exposure under professional guidance.

JKSC Screening Committee Finalizes Teams
Today’s final screening was conducted by the JKSC Screening Committee, comprising Hilal Ahmad Bhat, Deputy Manager, Polo Ground Srinagar, JKSC, and Burhan Ahmad, Physiotherapist, KICOE JKSC. Members of the JKBBA present included Arsheena Khan, General Secretary, and Vice-President (BBFI), Mohsin Farooq Khan, Vice President, and Zahid Mustafa Bhat, Member.
The officers and association members encouraged the players, wishing them success in representing Jammu and Kashmir with pride at the upcoming National Championships.
