The United States men’s hockey team has captured Olympic gold, defeating Canada 2-1 in overtime thanks to a stunning goal by Jack Hughes. This victory marks the first time Team USA has won the Olympic hockey title since the Miracle on Ice in 1980.

Hughes scored the game-winning goal at 1:41 of overtime, sneaking the puck between the legs of Canadian goaltender Jordan Binnington. The goal secured a 2-1 victory for the Americans in a fiercely contested gold medal game.
