Italian Judo Championships: Serchio Valley Athletes Shine in Cadet A2 Category

At the Italian judo championships held last weekend in Policoro, in the province of Matera, the Serchio Valley was also present. Thanks to the Judo Club Fornaci which qualified two athletes in the Cadet A2 category. Matteo Vannini and Enzo Gigli, both competing in the 73 kg category, were among the 606 athletes, belonging to 311 different clubs from all over Italy, to compete for the various titles. The level is obviously very high and competitive, with the two youngsters from Mediavalle who were eliminated in the first round but without any demerit whatsoever. For the record, the more experienced Alessandro Porcedda of the Judo Academy Turin and Michele Teora of Judo Fujiyama Mantova got the better of the standard bearers of the Judo Club Fornaci. With the two athletes, as well as some family members, Maestro Marco Gigli who follows them and trains them all year round.
