INEFI Promotes Sports Program “Athlete with INEFI” at Patria Mella Intermediate Primary School

SANTO DOMINGO. – The National Institute of Physical Education carried its program this Friday “Athlete with INEFI” to the Patria Mella Intermediate Primary School, where he delivered sports props and gave a talk to the students of that educational center, located in the eastern municipality of this capital.

The activity was headed by the executive director of INEFI, Alberto Rodríguez Mella, who thanked the directors, teachers and students for the “warm welcome,” highlighting that the objective is “to promote the practice of the winning formula: Education plus sport.”

“Another purpose is to promote healthy lifestyle habits and motivate students to achieve their goals, through our high-performance athletes, and good practice through sports equipment and fields in good condition,” he highlighted.

Rodríguez Mella was received by the school director, Josué Pichardo, and the student Juan Daniel Salas Brand, who thanked and classified as “very significant” the efforts made by this decentralized organization.

For his part, the Pan American medalist Nelson Ozuna, newly elected president of the Dominican Badminton Federation, expressed words of exhortation to all those attending the event, especially the physical education teachers and students of the Patria Mella school.

The exhibitions were led by the coordinator of “Athletes with INEFI”, the judoka María García, who directed the international medalists Heriberto De Haza and one of the school’s teachers, Junior Mesa, in charge of the judo and weights demonstrations, respectively.
