The three-month coup that the president announced that day, with Mirado #2 in hand, has already begun. It was during the Community Media Meeting (Caquetá) where, caught in the paroxysm produced by the trilogy platform-microphone-applause, he said, among other things, that to counteract the journalism that he describes as sold out to the rich – the large media that control him – his government will finance the independence of the small ones. It is not known what is worse for the economic, social and emotional stability of a country: a head of state who is detecting conspirators or one who is manufacturing opinion bombs. Or one who comes in a combo: detector and manufacturer, all in one. Tenacious! We elected him, we have him and we will democratically fire him – much to his regret – on August 7, 2026, alive and kicking. Meanwhile…, depending on how he has slept, he chooses the enemy of the day. (Although he has his little heart: the “oligarchy”, the opposition, the media, the journalists, the unions, the “assassins” who shout Petro out in stadiums…, they are their favorite targets).
In addition to calling the CNE magistrates clumsy, he accused them of being coup-mongers – in collusion with the opposition – for fulfilling their duty to investigate the financing of his presidential campaign. With fiery words he announced, without proof, that “the order has already been given”; in three months they will overthrow him or kill him. Between the distrust that has accompanied him since those times and the high regard he has had since he was brought by a spaceship, nothing is more common than declaring himself a victim of persecution in the face of any criticism, however moderate it may be. He, on the other hand, grants himself the right to do whatever he wants. (Pointing out arbitrarily is his favorite pastime because governing…, he does not seem to be up to it).

That is why he challenged the retraction order issued by the Council of State, derived from the accusations he launched against Enrique Vargas in the Nueva EPS. That is why, in the middle of a truckers’ strike, he released a confidential communication from the Uiaf on the Pegassus software; the Unit, as a result, is now suspended from the international exchange of information on financial assets. (The truckers were also accused of being coup plotters, even though most of them derive their livelihood from one or two vehicles, obtained with effort. Apparently, “the people” who insistently call out to the streets, like it and serve it as long as they support it and remain in poverty; if someone manages to overcome it, he immediately goes into the category of despicable oligarch.)
That is why he argues that only journalists who tell the truth are killed. What is the background to this concept? And he calls female journalists who refuse to kiss the ground he walks on “mafia dolls.” (He doesn’t think about them.)

That is why he expressed surprise that “a black man is a conservative.” A black man who, like so many Colombians of all colors, is full of personal and professional merits, and who today presides over the Supreme Court.
