Knicks Shine at NBA All-Star Skills Night: Brunson Leads Shooting Stars Victory, Lillard and Johnson Claim Contest Titles

Los Angeles, CA – The NBA All-Star Weekend kicked off with a night of thrilling competitions at the Intuit Dome, highlighted by a victory for Team Knicks in the Shooting Stars event, and impressive performances from Damian Lillard and Keshad Johnson in the Three-Point and Slam Dunk Contests, respectively.

Shooting Stars

Team Knicks, comprised of Jalen Brunson, Karl-Anthony Towns, and NBA legend Allan Houston, emerged victorious in the Shooting Stars competition, defeating Team Cameron with a score of 47-38. The event marked the return of the Shooting Stars competition after a hiatus since 2015.

Despite a strong showing from Team Cameron’s Corey Maggette, who made all of his long-distance shots, the Knicks responded with five successful four-point attempts. Jalen Brunson secured the winning shot, with Allan Houston adding another at the buzzer. Team Knicks initially set the highest score in the first round with 31 points, while Team Cameron advanced with 24.

Damian Lillard claimed his third Three-Point Contest title, despite missing the entire season due to an Achilles tendon injury. Lillard, sporting his Portland Trail Blazers uniform, dominated the final round with 29 points.

Devin Booker of the Phoenix Suns put up a strong fight, recording two perfect racks in the final round, but ultimately fell short with 23 points.

Rookie Kon Knueppel of the Charlotte Hornets finished third with 17 points in the final round.

Slam Dunk Contest

Keshad Johnson of the Miami Heat won the 2026 NBA Slam Dunk Contest, defeating Carter Bryant of the San Antonio Spurs in the final round. Johnson delivered two impressive dunks to secure the victory.

Bryant initially achieved the only perfect 50-point dunk of the night with a spectacular attempt, but couldn’t maintain that level in subsequent attempts.

Jase Richardson of the Orlando Magic suffered a head injury during a failed dunk attempt but completed the dunk on his third attempt. Jaxson Hayes of the Los Angeles Lakers was too eliminated in the first round.
