Two Deux-Montagnes Cardinals teams that are part of the big family of the Lac des Deux-Montagnes Minor Baseball Association (ABMLDM) are finishing the year 2024 with well-deserved honors.
These were awarded to them during the Baseball Québec merits gala for the Laurentides region.
Held for this 2024 edition at the Académie Sainte-Thérèse, this annual event is an opportunity to celebrate the commitment of young players, but also the essential contribution of coaches, referees, scorers and volunteers who work for minor baseball in the Laurentides region.
This year, the Deux-Montagnes Cardinals did not go unnoticed during this merit gala since the 13UBF women’s team was crowned “Team of the Year”, as was the 16UBF women’s team, which earned the same distinction in her category, but also a “Tip of Hat” for her bronze medal won at the Provincial Women’s Championships.
“These honors recognize not only the performance of the players on the field, but also their team spirit, their determination and the hard work of their coaches throughout the season,” mentioned Jean-François Chaput, manager of the Cardinals. 13UBF.
Highlights of the 2024 season
Fourth in the regular season in the standings of the central section of the Quebec Women’s Baseball League, Laurentides region, with a record of 12 wins, 5 losses and 2 draws, the Cardinals’ 13UBF team was crowned champion, last July, of the Longueuil Cup tournament. In June, she also made it to the semi-finals during the 13UB Capitales de Québec – PMT Roy assurances tournament.

For its part, the Cardinals 16UBF women’s team also had success on the field, completing its regular season in second place in the central section of the Quebec Women’s Baseball League, Laurentides region, by virtue of a record of 14 victories, 3 defeats and 1 draw. Champion of the 16U Charlemagne / Le Gardeur baseball tournament, played in June, she was also a finalist in the central section playoffs and third, with a bronze medal, at the Provincial Women’s Championships.
And other honors for the ABMLDM…
Still during this same merits gala, honors were also awarded to Jocelyn Giraldeau’s coaching team (Denis Beauchesne, Maxime Fortin, Éric Francoeur, Zacchary Ouellet and Erik Sevigny) playing in the 18UA. She was specifically named “18UA Coaching Team of the Year” and also earned a “Tip of the Hat” for the gold medal won at the Provincial Championships.
