The Hidalgo 2026 Cup, now in its third date, is more than just a race – it’s a crucial stepping stone for cyclists aspiring to represent their state in regional and national competitions.

“The competition is emerging as a fundamental selection to define the cyclists who will represent Hidalgo in the next regional, heading to the National Olympics,” says Lauro Campos, a cycling enthusiast and regular observer of the event.

Huichapan: The Stage for the Next Grande Finale

This Saturday, the Hidalgo 2026 Cup travels to Huichapan, offering cyclists a challenging road circuit that promises to test their power, precision, and strategy.

• Time Trial: Saturday at 1:00 p.m., a 7-kilometer circuit
• Road Race: Sunday, starting at 9:00 a.m. for children’s categories, with other groups following as the morning progresses

Categories and Prize Structures

The official categories competing for state selection include Youth A, B, and C, both in men’s and women’s branches. Additionally, children’s divisions AA, A, B, and C offer a training program with medals for winners. For older categories, cash prizes await the first places.

Free, intermediate, master 40, master 50, and local categories also participate, fostering growth and sportsmanship among cyclists of varying experience levels.

Organized by the Hidalguenses Youth Cycling Association under the guidance of Marco Antonio Ríos Velázquez, the Hidalgo 2026 Cup seeks to strengthen local talent and maintain cycling’s prominence in the National Olympics.
